About Me

My name is Kiranasri, pronounced Ki-rana-shree, which I was given at my ordination. Sarah Wellard is my civil name. I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with seven years’ experience working with clients. My approach draws on a range of psychotherapeutic models, tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances.

Previously, I worked as a journalist and at a senior level in the voluntary sector with carers, young people unable to live with their birth parents due to serious family difficulties and also with people with mental health difficulties or learning disabilities. These roles allowed me to observe the capacity for people to grow and flourish within caring and supportive relationships, often overcoming huge difficulties in their early lives.

Challenges in relationships led me both to Buddhism and training as a therapist. Through this journey, I have discovered a new sense of wholeness and meaning in my life. I have experienced healing at a deeper level than I had believed was possible.

I am an ordained Buddhist and have been practising meditation and mindfulness for over twenty years. I draw on these ancient approaches to growth and personal development in my work with clients, supporting you to become more integrated and connected with your own innate wisdom.

I work as a psychotherapist and counsellor in private practice and have also worked in community counselling services. I offer therapy to people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

I trained for five years at the Minster Centre and have a postgraduate diploma (PGDip) in integrative psychotherapy and counselling from Middlesex University. I also hold an MSc in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Sheffield. I am a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their professional codes of ethics.
